Patient Notice
Dr Sanyal
April 2010: Dr Sanyal, Senior Partner has retired after long service at the practice. We wish him all the best and a happy retired life.
Training Practice
July 2010: The practice has now been approved by the East Midlands Deanery to train GPs . We will start our first trainee in August.
April 2010: The practice is preparing to start training GPs. We are due to have approval visits from the East Midlands Deanery in the coming months. The extension work to add a seminar room and a new consulting room is now complete. Dr Kumar hopes to start training GPs from August subject to approval.
August 2009: The practice has been approved and has started training Foundation Doctors. Foundation doctors are qualified doctors who have not necessarily chosen General Practice for their medical career. They are required to do a four month placement in order to gain experience in General Practice and will work under the direct supervision of Dr Kumar.
The practice is also training medical students from Leicester University. They are supervised at all times and do not make patient management decisions on their own.
We acknowledge that some patients may prefer not to see a doctor in training, or a student and we will respect any concerns you may have. Please let a member of staff know if you do not wish to seen by a trainee or be seen by the doctor with a trainee present.
Extended Hours
In line with recent government directives we now have an evening surgery with pre-bookable appointments available on Thursdays from 18:30 to 19:30.
Please note we have been told to make these extended hours available for patients with appointments only.
If you do not have an appointment the PCT are still responsible for your care out of hours and you will have to contact NENEDOC on 01536 522955 for Emergencies and Home visits.
