Appointments
For urgent medical attention, we have appointments daily. Please telephone the surgery as soon after 8.00am as possible. We cannot guarantee you will be allocated an appointment with your own doctor. Please be aware that if you have several problems you may be asked to make a further routine appointment to deal with all problems adequately.

Training Practice

July 2010: The practice has now been approved by the East Midlands Deanery  to train GPs . We will start our first trainee in August.

April 2010: The practice is preparing to start training GPs.  We are due to have approval visits from the East Midlands Deanery in the coming months. The extension work to add a seminar room and a new consulting room is now complete. Dr Kumar hopes to start training GPs from August subject to approval.

August 2009: The practice has been approved and has started training Foundation Doctors.  Foundation doctors are qualified doctors who have not necessarily chosen General Practice for their medical career.  They are required to do a four month placement in order to gain experience in General Practice and will work under the direct supervision of Dr Kumar.

The practice is also training medical students from Leicester University. They are  supervised at all times and do not make patient management decisions on their own.

We acknowledge that some patients may prefer not to see a doctor in training, or a student and we will respect any concerns you may have. Please let a member of staff know if you do not wish to seen by a trainee or be seen by the doctor with a trainee present.

In line with recent government directives we now have an evening surgery with pre-bookable appointments available on Thursdays from 18:30 to 19:30.
